This is one of those cars that gets shuffled from one GoodVolks member to another, but it hopefully landed at a somewhat permanent home this time. Thanks to Matt for selling it to me and to Matt, Mike, Dave and Matt's friend for helping to temporarily reunite the body with the pan Not going to do much with it right away, but it will replace the 68 in the future.

Great project Rudy.
Let me know if you're not going to use some of the parts. I'm looking for some 67 stuff. Thanks

I think we are in trouble! I think we need a 4th racer to join us. Great car Rudy. Glad it is in your hands. It is funny how some of these cars move around. It was because of this car that I met Dustin and John in the first place. They came over to buy left over parts from my first '67 since I was not going to do another car . The parts were for this car. So, will it be ready for the 2012 racing season?

Thanks for the responses! Here's the scoop: Steve: you are actually in less trouble as this is a solid shell and I won't be able to bring myself to hack it up and replace panels with aluminum. It is going with the same restrictions Bren put on himself that it would be possible to restore it in the future. Ray: there will definitely be some 67 only stuff available. PM me a list of what you need. Bren: it may make a few passes in 2012, but most likely won't be ready at the begining of the season. I'm shooting for having it done on the 4th of July..........(always my target date, year not specified) Mike: The front end is one that I had that we whipped on there for flat towing. It will be wide 5 all around when it is done (or maybe euro-spec 4 lug? ?)

Ordered a "Poor Man's Posi" from Gene Berg today. Going to order some more transmission stuff from George tonight. I'm hoping that this will be enough improvement to the differential that I can avoid the extra weight of a super diff. Taking the slack out of the side and spider gears may be enough to hold the tremendous torque of the 1600. Time will tell. Well, I figured it was cold enough to remove the sound deadening pads and have them come off easy with a putty knife. Big mistake! They came off generating a shower of little asphalt sprinkles that went everywhere. I heated the panels with a heat gun to remove them after the first one. The pads from the doors, rear quarters, rear fender wells and the rear firewall all added up to 7 lbs. The heaviest one was the one on the rear firewall. I saved enough weight that I can have an order of fries with my burger tonight....................

I just have just been "puttsing" with the '67. There was a piece of ductwork that Ray wanted out of it, so I cut it out, and kept going on other things. Removed a bunch of little trim holders, brackets, etc. All added up to another 10lbs gone! Probably easier than the treadmill, too.................. ;D ;D ;D

Wow, 10lbs. Nice find. I am afraid I have not found as much weight to remove as you. Looking forward to putting the cars on the scale in the spring.

Rudy, Nice work! Weight reduction continues... this is getting good. I'm also curious on the final weight.
