Got four anchor bolts in the hoist, so Its at least not going to move on me at this point 12 more to go.
Hubs and brakes are on. Not so funny thing I learned. the CB 2" drop spindles do not work with my disc brake setup. Sooooo going to run stock height. Might even have to add a click or two to the rear to have it be even, we shall see.
Anyone want some drop spindles??
Will need to get a left inner tie rod end and maybe Ill replace the outer as well as its not very healthy looking since it lost its boot. After that Im just waiting on the Koni shocks. Jegs is going to get back with me Monday on where those are hiding. Im right on schedule at this point but its not done and it needs to be by Sunday. Id like to get a test run in and will need to align it this week or this is not going to happen....... Typical running around to get ready for a run.

Front suspension done. Wow is it high off of the ground now! Seems even high for stock. Oh well. Took for a drive and love the ride, even handles better. Next need to adjust the rear as it looks like a gasser.

Up Up and away!!! IT WORKS!!! It DIDNT FALL! Cool. Ok lets get to work. P.O. must have replaced all this stuff because the bushings look great and the beams look pretty new. Ok paint and then reassemble and work with the hight to stabilize with the new stance of the front.

Yea they are set up for drums. Im sure some sort of bracket could be made to make them work but not for me. Lowered is so 2010, Im starting a new trend, raising! Rollin stock hight. You want the gas tank and drop spindles? 100.00 for both.

Gas tank sold. Adj beam, sold. Got rid of lots of stuff. Picked up a cool vw gti looking strg wheel that I found does not fit Ally, but it was only 10.00 so no biggie. Fixed a horn button issue today.

So what Ive been up to is starting to gear up for next year. Since overall mechanically all is well for a change Ive decided to work more towards the rAlly Theme and get away from my original 80's cal look theme. I intend to do more racing with Ally and maybe even a little light rally style off roading (rally cross). To that end I wanted to get rid of the nice looking but not right for the car empi wheels. So I sold them and have purchased some new 66 steelies that were powder coated black. They are on the way and I should see them next week. I had one 66 steelie laying around so I decided to play with it to get the look the way I like it. I painted it gloss black to kinda duplicate the wheels on the way and then put a red stripe on it. I like. I also have some cool red anodized acorn lugs on the way and that should work. I painted the middles of the wheels in the German flag motif as I kinda liked that on the old wheels. Here is a rough look at what I had in mind. I did finally receive my new licence plate and I think its pretty cool. Mechanically I intend to lean out the engine a bit next spring as Ive been running her kinda rich for the most part and I intend to get the Nitrous filled and start working on that. I have kinda decided if I was to blow up the 2276 (see above) I may replace it with a much smaller motor. Its not that I don't like the power (I do) But sometimes I miss the smoothness of the OE motor and I sure miss the mileage!!! Till then Im going to keep pushing the 2276 through its paces. I do love the power. Should be a relatively boring winter, maybe I can finish some of my planes!

Yea totally running rich, Ill fix that this spring. She is smooth enough but she is a big thumper and is nothing like the original sewing machine I started with. Im happy with the beast but next one might be a small little mousey.

Dansam:
I agree with you...I LIKE small, smooth engines. I had a BMW /5 750cc bike that was great. I bought a R/90S and it was a LOT faster, but could not hold a candle to the smaller 750 in terms of refinement. I loved them both, but I loved the /5 just a little bit more.
I totally get it.

Well I like the 2276 alot and there is a reason I put so much time effort and money into it. Im just saying if and when it goes kablooee I may replace it with the single port that's sitting in my garage. That's all.
