Just saw this thread (I'm new)... we use the Joe Gibbs Driven at our shop in Holland. We typically stock HR1 15w50 conventional for the British stuff we service, HR10w40 for my vintage Honda motorcycle and we also usually have the DT50 aircooled-specific stuff along with the BR break-in oil.
Because most of the stuff we typically work on isn't uber high-performance and has crappy oil control (cork seals, rope seals, Archimedes screws, etc., the extra-slipperiness of blends or full synthetic is usually a bad idea. If a car leaks it just makes it worse, and you know what they say... if a British car doesn't leak oil, check the oil because it's probably out.
Oh, and if you ever call Driven about their oil, chances are you'll get to talk directly to Lake Speed, Jr. and he's a hell of a nice guy.

I have been using Swepco 306 in staight 30 wt. and 10w30,it has over 1000 ppm zinc/phosphorus,for many years works well for me but I had my cam/lifters pre run (broke in), (it weeds out the bad cam and lifters)going on 20 k miles. Swepco is more of a commercial fleet type oil made for longevity not a "racing oil", its purple also like some others, wonder if they make it for those people? RK
