Goodvolks Dune Day September 25, 2010

Here are the details:

September 25 is the first annual Goodvolks Dune Day at Silver Lake.
Park opens at 9am and closes at 8pm.

Let's do lunch at 1pm. Picnic lunch, bring your own food; feel free to bring stuff to share too. Meet in the main parking lot, look for the Goodvolks awning and banner.

Here is an address to use for mapquest or gps: 1920 N. 24th St., Mears, MI. (This is for Appletree which is right across the street from the entrance to the dunes.)

Sounds great, just need a little help getting the buggy up and going?? I also have a place to camp if anyone is interested, I'll talk to them over the 4th. Sounds like a BLAST!!!

Kenn: Put together a busted bbq like harsh winters does. I will do my best to be there. I would love to see you get that rail out on the dunes this summer. Mid-September should give you plenty of time, don't you think!?

I don't have a vehicle to participate with, but might be fun just to check out the dunes and the various rides people have. Sept 19 is also the Toledo Bugfest, so that weekend would be a good one to avoid.

I like the idea of many of us going and getting rides in vehicles. I enjoy being a taxi driver and tour guide ;D. As always, I say the more the merrier. In fact, I would not mind riding with someone more experienced just to see what and how they get around.

So, any date recommendations?

October 2nd probably wouldn't be a terrible day. The colors might be changing up there at that time, but it probably would be cold..

The fall hill climb is sept 11th and 12th. It would be neat to hang out up there when that is going on.

last year they weren't terrible, but its hard to say. The actual hill climb is Sunday Morning, the weigh in and tech in is on Saturday.

Vouchers arnt bad if we all can "drive" in with our cars. Trailers always slows things way down. Ive driven in when the trailer line is 3-4 hours wait still. :\

How many people would need to trailer their car into the dunes?

I can tow or trailer. Either is fine. Although it is more fun with the paddles ;D.
Vouchers are done in September so any weekend in October should be voucher free. I guess we could call to confirm though.

OK, I say we go September 25th.

Go up for the day to help keep costs down, no hotels required.
Vouchers are over by then so we should all be able to trailer in without having to be there the night before to get a voucher.

This leaves October open for doing the Goodvolks Drag Day at US131. They run test and tune on every Saturday in October.
