Hello all! Its been quite some time! I sold the water pumper warrior buggy due to the fact that it was, well, garbage. But now im back with an air cooled rail I get some pics up as soon as I remember how!

I do believe I have the oil to full. Its smoking on start up since I changed it. Where does everyone usually run the oil level?

I usually fill it by volume the first time, run it a minute, and check the dipstick to see what the oil level is. I have found a lot of mis-marked dipsticks through the years...
Filling by volume is the best way to do it the first time.

I filled it so it was on the upper line. It seems to run fine and the oil pressure is ok. But now it smokes on a cold start. Didn't do that before I changed it. I used castrol 20w50 in it. Thats what I read was a good choice.

Why do my alternator and crank pullys not line up??? Not as off as I thought. Still not perfect though. It does run! The belt stayed on when I fired it. Is that ok? Do all of these things "tick" slightly? Sounds the same as the old motor

Do you have a sand sealed pulley on the motor? If so you should have a spacer in the alternator to line it all up.
