Are you planning to beef up your wishbones? With all that power and a trans that can hold it that is the next weak link isn't it?

Im not doing 5000 rpm clutch drops . Im sure the torsion bars will cope. Its a swing axle not irs. I forget the gear ratios I have it written down somewhere. According to Bill the trans guy it was optimized for the usage I told him it would get.

Truss Bars are almost a must Don't you have a Mid-Mount already? as for bigger torsions you won't need them until the sump hits the pavment on launch ;D as long as u don't have wheel hop you'll be fine,Madmike

I have a mid mount and a camber compensator. Im not going to add anything else till there is a problem. This is a higher gear than the old box so it should actually be weaker off of the line but start hustling when moving.
Tonight finished putting gear oil in trans, adjusted and bleed brakes and since I now have a new style trans I needed to take the ring off of the pressure plate and installed a new style throw out bearing. Starting tommorow or sat the engine goes in.

Thanks for the info on the truss bars. Im still not biting. Im really not spending any more money on Ally for a while. Again Im not using all this power to get off of the line. It is unusual for anyone to see me take off in a cloud of smoke. Im more of an autocrosser type person. I use the power to get out of a corner OR while over 30mph Ill just floor it for no other reason then to cause a smile to creep onto my face. OK once in a while Ill use the power to keep up with some gold chained idiot but really Im not going to be drag racing it and if I take it to the track Ill be pretty soft on takoff. As for gearing keep in mind Ally used to have a 1300 trans in her (very low gearing) and I used tall rear tires to compensate. Now It has a late model 12v trans with stock ratio's and still tall tires (I still have the low profiles if need be) so It aught to be a pretty tall gear ratio. Im told with the power Im making it should work fine. we shall see. Ill play with it and find out. The biggest change frankly is for the first time since I built the motor I aught to be able to floor it without slippage from the clutch (well it better not anyway!!) Since I built the motor Ive never gotten all the hp to the ground It would drive normal then Id floor it and the engine would zoom to 5000 and the car would catch up eventually! This was in all gears and at all speeds. It felt like a auto trans car with a very high slip situation. If nothing else Im hoping it just goes now without the slippage cuz Im not just tapped out, Im in CC debt over this "change" for at least 3 months.

Someone once told me it is bad to put a fuel filter in the engine bay. Since Ive been doing so since I was 16 or so I decided to put two of them in there to piss people off
