It Lives , I'm not 100% yet , But - don't you just love that but , it started right up after I got gas into the new gas lines . New clutch is working good , new gas sending unit is working good , Still have to complete the new canvas ( lots of screws not a lot of room ) Dash plate needs to be painted yet (rust stain from old bad windshield gasket ) . The doors ( new seals and tinted glass & panels ) , Front windshield , and seals (doors & hatches ) , Bleed the brakes , Change the oil & filter , Then back next door for under coating ,and touch up on heads of bolts (bumpers & pop top ) that were installed after the main paint job . @ this point I was able to do everything and not put a scratch on it so far . As far as for the Bug Run it's @ 50-50 . I have done a lot of hours in the last 2 week's , A LOT OF HOUR'S - But it's looking GOOOOOOOOD . I just won't to make sure that what I have done is right the first time .

This is what I have found out during my Ghia take your time and do it right the first time. There will always be shows and events. If something is worth doing its worth doing right.

What? Am I missing something here.
I am so looking froward to seeing your completed Westy Bus because I will someday be in the market for a Westy. I really wanted to see one in a near like new condition with all correct parts. So I could hopefully sell the unsure wife that camping in a vintage Volkswagen is fun.
I was just telling you to take your time and not rush.
If there is still anything that you need help with just say the word I still need to return the favor.
Please keep in touch AJ

Glen: Don't give up so easily. You are a part of this. Dustin and I were just talking about you last night. We were commenting about how much you were out promoting the club and the bug run. You and Kenn have done tons of promoting this year. Keep up the good work and stay involved. I am very interesed in hearing about your project. Obviously it was sad to hear about your accident with the bus; glad you were OK. It is cool that you were able to turn that accident into a nice full restoration. I look forward to seeing it at the bug run, hopefully. Keep posting. Show us some photos. -Bren

Glen, It doesn't mean people aren't interested in your project. Pictures really help with posts to get comments. I care about this project and was really thrilled with everything you have been doing for the club. Please don't abandon us. Don't take a lack of posts as an insult if I did that I wouldn't be on any boards.

I have a 76 bus with 2.0 F.I. engine and automatic transmission. I got this as a parts car about 15 years ago. I quit driving this due to gas tank rust problem. last sumer I decided to restore this. I fixed the tank and put it back and the engin runs good. I removed all glasses and working on body work. The rightr rear corner had dents wich was fixed last summer. the floor pan has a few small holes. I have all parts necessary at this moment. I replaced all accesible areas rubber parts. This spring I was bussy restoring 1940 ford 9N tractor for my wife. I completed (Nford project. Now I'm ready to focus on Bus. I need any help regarding resorationand this forum is very useful. Please send your pictures and tips. I'll send my pictures soon.

This is where I'm at , I started it up and backed her out of the shop yesterday and power washed the underside in preparation for undercoating . I still have to reassemble the doors ( seals-glass ) I ordered rivets for the vent windows they go in first , Also rear side lights backing plate , Front seat rubber mat raps , Brake-Clutch peddle seals , Wiper shaft grommets & nut cover , I get paid on the 15Th and on goes the tags & Insurances , My list is short . I'm down to maybe a DAYS WORK , But there's that but again , Are they really ever done ??

Glen
Are you planning to make the GTG for the group photo? Also I think you should make the fall color tour. It may be the last time for Ghia before winter sets in. I can't wait to see it because some day I will be in the drivers seat of a Bus.
