Taylor do you pop all the windows everytime you repaint? Seems like a major hassle, maybe easier than I think?

I did pull all of the glass. It required me to buy new seals for the windshield and rear window, but well worth it. The end product is much better than if I masked it all.
By the way, the seals from West Coast Metric are really good--much better than the ones I bought at Mid America Motorworks. Man. the MAM seals were hard to work with!

taylor, do you use any type of hardener with the valspar, or have you not found a need for it? I'm thinking on the baja some sort of hardener might be a good idea. also, I went back through and re-read this whole thread again, and I REALLY need to stop doing that, because now I want to change mine into a volksrod again. LOL. The only thing keeping me from doing it is the limitations on where I can drive it.

I did not use hardener, but Valspar does make one for this paint. I did not use it because I do not have the fresh air supply needed to protect myself from the isocynates in the hardener. I'll live with the paint the way it is (which is fine as is), versus risk liver damage from the isocynates.

Very nice. Amazing transformation. I like the color, and the stance.

I just sold this car today to a guy who lives in Ohio. I told him to join GoodVolks, to keep the tradition alive. Be sure to welcome Paul to the group!
I've enjoyed being a part of this forum over the last 4+ years. You are a good buck of folks! I may be back again...until then--thanks for all the tips and encouragement!
