Some new progress... Rivet turn out almost factory looking! Still need glass, then do the other door. Putting windows in is a pane.

I have windows! I was all ready for a cruise when checking my oil, I found a cracked fuel pump.

Too bad on the fuel pump - although I really can't see the crack. Probably my glasses need cleaning. Nice job on the windows, and I see a refection of the next project

are you thinking of installing bumpers or are you diggin the clean look? I have some T-bars, but was thinkking of euro blades with no overriders. Can't bring myself to pay for the stainless bumpers with overriders.

Installed a new fuel pump. I was surprized that AutoShack had a rebuildable pump similar to the original german pump. Assembled in USA.

Tip of the day: It is much easier to change a leaking master cylinder if you remove the front axle beam.

No worries about brake fluid dripping on the trailing arms this way..................

Since the beam is out, might as well upgrade the suspension, right? Stay tunned....

The old axle came out easy enough (gravity helped), but after that, things didn't go as smooth. The body mounts didn't quite fit, had to oblong the holes. '66-'67 spindles have an odd inner bearing, had to buy new inner bearings and seals. Then I found one of the outer bearings was pitted, so back to the parts store (I think I made 4 trips to the parts store). One of the plastic hose barbs on the new master cylinder was cracked and leaked all over, had to steal one from the old MC. The wheel balance weights rubbed the lower ball joint, had to file them down. And with it finally done, it is lower than I wanted with the adjusters all the way up. Looks cool though. One thing went right without drama. I used a hand vacuum pump to bleed the brakes. Got a solid pedal without even needing to get someone to pump the pedal.
