I got a mess of seals for my car today, new air filter and a shifter extension. Now I just need to get out there and put it all on. This is the first order of three that I will make this winter. Showing the old girl the love she deserves.

I started rebuilding a 34 PICT Solex Carb yesterday. Turned out that it was not that bad just full of carbon. No matter what the weather I will be out in the garage this weekend.

Finally finished putting the 72 bug away for the winter. Put it on jackstands, put dryer sheets in the trunk, passenger compartment and engine compartment, and removed the battery. Before doing this the engine needed to be started and warmed up. The last time it ran was in Oct and then it died due to fuel system problems and had raw fuel dumped down the carb to get it going. I wanted to run it about 15 min or so to get it good and warm. To do this I had to implement TFS: Temporary Fuel System In order to get it running MFBFD was used: Manual Float Bowl Filing Device Most people cannot obtain this level of sophistication without using either duct tape or bailing wire............ ;D

I want to get one of those off the samba. Yours looks different though. Ah thats what I thought it was Rudy, I really hope to see it as well as the other project Bug you were working on.

Doesn't winter just suck!! I have had a cold now I am getting better. My dog had a bad stomach virus and he is getting better after a vet bill. After being stuck inside I was finally able to finish my Bus carburetor. This is the before shot... And the after.... Now I need to brave old man winter and kick my butt out into the garage.

AJ, you should look for one of the heaters like the one I have that mounts on a 20lb propane tank. I think it would do wonders in your garage space. If you want to burrow mine and try it out let me know.
