Mike is Mad LOL he has a thing for 40mm Weber. I have a thing for IDAs. Trust me...I would have preferred 40 IDF's but in the end, I think the beefed up Kadrons were a safer bet from a low maintenance/reliability standpoint. In the short drive I took her on last weekend, I was all sorts of smilin. I think the Kadrons will do for now.

Just can't see paying them prices for Bus re-placement carbs,,,,,when you can pick up rebuild able IDF's for sometimes less ($75 for the latest pair I found ) tell me about reliable when the bushings ware out IDA's would be a little bit overkill Clinton,, on his mouse motor Well you have them now so,Have fun with them, lean to fine tune ,,to get the best Performance & Mileage

Hey now guys...these aren't just off the shelf Bus carbs. 32mm Venturis is a nice step up from the stock 28's. Kaddie Shacks Hi Flow add nets a few more ponies as well. Maybe one day I'll go bigger but I still have a lot of changes to make on this car ahead. I am sure Clinton can report back to all on this thoughts of how she drives once its all tuned.

Wilma’s odometer quit working last summer so last night I finally tore into it. Found a gear was spinning on a shaft it should have been locked to. Apparently, they press the gear on when assembling the thing into the mount bushings so there was no way to put some glue on the shaft and put it back together without gluing things that aren’t supposed to have glue. So I decided to drill a 1/16” hole in the gear hub and drop some glue in that. After drilling through the hub to the shaft, I realized I must have kicked up enough of a burr to lock the gear to the shaft, no glue needed. So I cleaned the glass inside and out, knocked out the dead spider that has been staring at me for years behind the glass and put it all back together 1 ½ hours after I started.
Went for a test drive and the odometer works! But the speedometer doesn’t. Crap. I managed to reach through the dash light with a paper clip and move the needle enough to free it up. Maybe I got some drill shavings in it. Seems to be working now.

I have thought for a long time that the front of my sportster sat too low. I bought a set of Sway-a-way heavy duty torsion leaves to replace the ones in my buggy that had been there since installation in Germany in 1957. I installed the new ones today, and picked up 3,count 'em, 3 inches of ground clearance. Yea me!!!!!

Yanked the IRS trans and axles out of the '76, getting it ready for the rhino cased swing axle unit.
