This thing is really solid, and complete. Most of the cosmetic issues are surface rust. This is going to be a long term project, with my rail donating its' running gear. The way I enjoy using my buggy, the short wheelbase, fenders, and storage area should make this way more fun than the rail.

So..., it followed you all the way home in reverse? What's it's name? I had one back in the day and beat the living ^$*%* out of it.

Very cool Paul. I thought about getting it but that is as far as I went with it. I am glad you got it. I look forward to seeing it and what you do with it.

Good! Good! Good! It was calling a lot of us, for sure. Glad to see it went to a good home.

Ok,I am in the midst of stripping this thing down. One of the worst things about not having kids around is I do not have somebody I can talk into laying on their back under the dash to remove things!

Paul:
Looks very cool!
One tip of advice when working under the dash on small cars...
The steering wheel comes off!
I struggles for a couple of days working under the dash of the Pig of Plastic before I figured the out. It was pretty easy then...
Another tip...
The seats can come out too!
That made it even easier.

Well, to strip this beast down any further would take a cuttin torch, or sawzall. This thing is built like a tank, and the sheetmetal is thick enough I can sandblast it with no warping. Bren, that HAHA sounds like the bully from the Simpsons (Nelson?) Kenn, for now this thing's name is Heinz 57, cause I think the donor car was a 1957. BTW, I have some ads on theSamba, search for pikeman48. Goodvolks members can ignore the prices I have posted, cause I will discount to club members Attachments:

I hate bodywork. I replaced the front halves of the floor pans on my sportster today. The back half of the floor is part of the sportster kit. The outer u-channel only goes about to where the door would be on the Bug, and they were in good shape. So I just cut out the old floor, and left a 3/4" flange all around, and welded new floors in. Did I mention I hate bodywork? I have all the paint off the body, lotsa time with a wire wheel on a grinder. Sandblasting is next, after I figure how to roll the beast up on her side so I can sandblast and paint the bottom side.
