I will volunteer to chair the meeting. How about this weekend in Paw Paw? Thanks Paul! Are you open to chairing it at a later date if this weekend does not work out?

Absolutely! I want to see 100 people at this meeting, not the 19 or so I saw at the last one.

If you want 100 people to show up you cant just throw out "I'll do one this weekend" the "official" Club Meeting date will be posted when we decide a good time.

Dustin, that is a rather snide reply to someone who answered a call for a volunteer. If you do not want or need my help, let me know.

100 people is a lot to expect. We can beg and plead for 100 people but if we're holding out for that number, chances are it's not gonna happen (it would be nice but let's be realistic - everyone has different schedules its not that 100 people wouldn't want to come). 20% of the people do 80% of the work in most situations especially in volunteer work. We need those who are active members who make it a point to be at as many events as they can and be active on the forums to make the big decisions. I met quite a few people at the Bug Run who ONLY come to the Bug Run and nothing else, I wouldn't want them making decisions for ALL GV events. I'd volunteer to chair the meeting too. The meeting place will also depend on how many people we get so a good head count is crucial in that way too.
Plan it farther ahead of time so members can plan around our meeting not try to fit it in their already busy schedules.

Tina and Paul, Thanks for taking the lead. Let me know and I'll try to attend, if soccer or family doesn't need my attention first. New blood is exactly what the club needs (IMHO).

Tina, I threw out this weekend just as a possibility. I also feel more time is needed to get maximum participation at a club meeting.

My recommendation would be to get a set date for the color tour then find a date for this meeting. Probably after the color tour. Maybe even after most cars are put away for the season.

I think that one thing that should be done is to address the "for sale" section.
In the past when I have done this it's really pretty easy...when you sell something, you send an email, and it gets deleted within a day or two.
If it's still listed for sale, it should be still for sale.
If it NOT for sale, but still posted, and no email was sent, well, someone gets a firm talking to. If it happens again, they get warned...after all, it's a club and we want to help the members buying and selling, but you also get a VERY stern warning.
If it happens again, and something is listed for sale and is not, no soup for you for a while. No ability to post a classified, and if one is, it gets deleted. No exceptions. It's common curtosey.
I'll volunteer to do this for a year, since I am on the computer every day for my job. Others can help too, and it works even better.
I can't see wasting time over something so basic.
Also, don't think folks are picking on you Pikeman. I for one appreciate what you are trying to do, and it's all good. Sometimes, folks just need to get their bearings and make plans, and it takes a bit of time. Also, if there is an agenda posted, even if you can't make a meeting, you can make your opinion known by contacting others. It just seemed a little rushed...
I for one would love to have you chair a meeting.

Another thought for the parts for sale section. A few of the members have multiple items for sale, myself inlcuded, and also use The Samba classifieds to advertise. To keep the parts for sale section from getting too complicated with extra photos and descriptions, we could have a "Samba ads" section. No replys, just a link to one persons ads on The Samba. If I posted a seperate ad for each of the parts I have sale, it would take up quite a few pages on our forums, along with the pictures, etc. People with only a few parts to sell could still post as normal. I think it would be easier to keep track of what ads are old, or need to be deleted, as Dave was suggesting.

How about active, inactive members list ? Those who do, those who have and those who don't?
