Club meeting at Ray's shop this winter. Date is Sunday, January 15 with a blizzard date of Sunday, January 22. This will be a BYOC (bring your own chair ) and a dish to pass. Ray will have water, soft drinks, and coffee. How does 1:00 sound? We will also need utensils, plates, and napkins-just bring what you have, even if its not a whole pack
Some recommendations from previous conversations:
Post up!
Agenda:
- deletion of classified postings over 4 months old.
(see Dave's post below for another twist on classified maintenance.)
- New classified section for links to members ads on other sites. (see Patrick's post below.)
- Water cooled section for forum
- selling of donated items to raise club funds
- do we need to be a registered non-profit?
- hold two annual meetings; one after the Lansing Buggy Builders and one after we put our cars away.
- Decide what core events we are going to run.
(such as charity show, color tour, Christmas party, bug runs.)
- Decide how we are going to run those events.
(Charity show needs to be club run; we should not put the whole thing on one person.)
- Discuss keeping the club simple so we don't burn out the people willing to do the work.
(I want to say 'don't bring it up if you are not willing to do it' but that might not be politically correct.)
- Discuss how to grow the club
(one suggestion, make sure we are welcoming to everyone new)
- Look at registered forum member growth separately from active member growth. Celebrate both independently. Hopefully this can reduce frustration of slower active involvement growth.
- As a club effort, make sure we work to welcome new people. Avoid forming cliques and reach out to new people to make them feel welcome.
- How do we select club officers? (Need to fill V.P. position) Possibly form a committee instead of officers to avoid more responsibility on any individual but collectively make decisions.
- Need club photographer - is one dedicated photographer really necessary?
- can we get a map on the web site of member locations/possible contact info?
- club calendar - shall we use various shots from shows, GTGs, caravans to shows in more of a "Surprise! Look who's made it to the calendar this year" way?
