It was a great day. I was there, Dan was there, and Rudy was there but he's got this amazing white car and get this: The ENGINE IS IN THE FRONT! Is that wild or what? Here I figured they had thought of everything.

A fun day. We gotta get more VWs out there.

What a fun time that was!! I hope to do more events in the future. Ally did great, me not so good I kept getting lost in a sea of cones! I think I had one clean run so I'm looking forward to the #'s. Whatever the results of my rustiness I had a blast the VW is a very awsome and versitile machine, a jack of all trades. I did not feel as though the car was doing anything out of it's capabilities. I hope we can get more bugs ((members)) involved so we can have a bug class. Nonetheless it was a blast! I'm back at the campground typing this on my Ipod (that's why the spelling is correct!) and all is well. Night night all.

There is an event on Sept 12th held at the VW dealership in Muskegon. It is their customer appreciation event and is a great time. It would be great to get a bunch GoodVolks to enter. I've sent PM's to some of you that have expressed some interest in the past. Anyone that I missed, please contact me with any questions. Here's the latest word from the organizer:

Autocrossers!

I've been able to confirm the season ending autocross at My Auto
Import Center in Muskegon on September 12. Information and
preregistration is now available at www.myautoevents.com.
I hope to have the lights fixed by then. I will have a contingent
plan available if needed.

MSU results will be on the Furrin Group website shortly. I have
to finish the newsletter first. Thanks for your patience.

Several of you got a PM from me regarding the Sept 12th Autox. To reserve your entry, you need to preregister. This event is limited to 80 cars and will fill up fast. If you preregister and can't make it, that's ok. The club is very understanding.

Send me a PM if you want to preregister and I'll get back to you with how to do it.

This is going to be a great time and more air-cooleds will make it that much greater.

Is the arena racing using cars or carts?

The arena racing is a spectator event for us. Really pretty good competition. The cars are about 1/2 scale with fiberglass bodies that look similar to late model oval track cars.

I see the Sno-Drift Rally is listed,Com'on up and freeze your butts off ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D i would luv to try Autocross in the 'Red' car if they were't so far away ::)Madmike

Sno drift does sound like fun + I probably know some of the drivers.

Only Driver I know Is Travis Pastrana from when my kid raced with him Pro Nationals MX and SuperCross,I drove into the Pits last year with the Laser 917 to show Travis We BS's for few minutes then he had to get ready to make a run,Great Kid 8-)But he's got a Death Wish my Wife sez ,Madmike

Hey guys. Furrin is having an ice-racing event this Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 6 & 7, 2010) and next Saturday and Sunday also (Feb. 13 & 14, 2010), assuming the weather holds.

I'll be there in my 912E, and George expressed some interest also. This is basically autocross on a frozen lake. This is my first time in this event (can't take get my beetle there because of the salt on the roads, and my Toyotas are totally useless on ice).
