I am going with stock rims first. I have brand new tires for them. Too cheap to not use them! Do you like the blue or white bumpers? I like the blue.

I like that color combo, with the white roof (first one). Looks like a great project!

Here is the latest idea: Original 1955 bus color combination. L312/L311 Palm Green/Sand Green. Then the dark was on the top and light on bottom. I am thinking I like the typical bay pattern of dark on bottom. Saw a split bus in Ultra VW magazine with this color combination. Stole the idea from there. Don't think I will see this combination on too many other bus's.

I like the green better then the blue, but we plan on going with green when we paint the 73' Bus.

I forgot you were talking about doing a green. Were you thinking the same color range as this or something different?

PG/SG Splits are about my favorite color combo's. Can't go wrong with that...

Couple weekends ago Steven and I worked on the bus. Got after the front right wheel well more: And we got the inner and outer rocker under the slider all done: Steven fixed the seat belt mounting point very nicely: (oops, can't find this photo.) Somewhere along the line we removed the dog leg. Initially I thought it would be easier to leave in the front few inches of the dog leg. We left that day at this point. I had a homework list. I got a D on my homework. Dog ate it.

Yesterday we worked on the bus more. Focused on the dog leg. First we tackled patching a spot at the front of the wheel well, backside of the nose: Last time we worked we decided to remove the front of the original dog leg and just use the whole repair piece: Then we did a initial test fit of the dog leg: OK, back to yesterday: We spent the majority of the day fitting the dog leg. Aftermarket parts don't fit well to say the least. We put the door back on. Got it lined up. Then played with the repair part. It was too short and the contour does not match the door nicely. We did the best we could. Going to have to do some metal work to get the gaps looking better. We have a game plan and feel pretty good about it. Here is the fitted and welded in dog leg: (we did a quick spray bomb paint job on it to help see the gaps easier.) Next visit we need to do some tune up on the dog leg then start rearward with the outer skin under the slider and the rocker behind it.
