I should have take a picture of the Paul Bunyan torue wrench AJ brough to the tech GTG. Made life real easy to set the fly wheel nut. Here is final end play at set first to zero then 4.5 thousands.

Next steps
Refinish/restore throttle body components. Can't do much with these but will see what I can do with some steel wool and paint.
Intall tin, engine compartment tarboard and seals.
Send shroud out for powder coat. Shroud is a mess.

rusty fan blade after 24 hours in white vinegar and a power wash (6 hours would have been enough but couldn't get to it before that) after primer, sweet! I HATE RUST - WHAT A PAIN. Why do I spend so much time on stuff no one will ever see?

How long before you get ready to put it back in? If you need someone to help you with it, just give me a call.

Stuff I need to finish: - restore fan shroud - its a mess
- order new rear tin without the heat riser openings
- test fit the exhaust
- clean up the throttle body pieces parts - they're a mess
- install tarboard
- final install of tin, manifold, throttle body, alternator
then I can put it back in the car, have a ways to go yet before I can test fire. I also need to work on routing the fuel lines a little more elegantly and install a fuel pressure line and guage. A lot of nit picky stuff but I'll keep at it. Thanks for the offer to help.

Not sure about the lengths of the seals. If they cover enough of the surface, then they'll be okay. Are there clamps?
Looks like you mounted the alternator/fan onto the stand. I would bolt the fan on the doghouse and then onto the stand.
Looks real good! Keep us updated, its cool seeing it come together.

The alternator is just sitting on there so I could take a picture and get a sense of the final product. Also wanted to test that my belt would line up which it does.

I suggest you remove the paint from the fan or get another. Paint will come off and and plug oil cooler and cylinder fins. Mike

Bah, now you tell me. Just painted that and the shroud interior also.
I suppose that's possible. I've seen quite a few examples of powder coated shrouds and fans (inside and out).
A painted surface would vastly improve the flow characteristics though.
