A turbo 2276, what a monster.
Mike, I was wondering...You saved power by taking out the alternator, and eliminated weight by tossing the fan shroud/cooling tin...so then why the big Optima battery?
Why not instead use an external battery to crank the motor over to fire her up, then just run the ignition off a small 3 or 4 Amp*Hr 12 volt battery for runs down the strip. That would easy save you 30-40 Lbs, wouldn't it?

Optima battery is out ,thing was probably 10yrs old,,won't hold a charge very long, hey it was free and I used it in 3 race cars, when to wallyWorld and grabbed a small deep cell, and look a cooling and 'Charging system Thing is, I get invited to do a cruise after a car show ect. and I can't go because of no cooling ect. and I do like to show off weight isn't important I'm not racing for $$$ ,just for fun,, if I get beat it's still a win when u ask the 'V8 guy:'So how does it feel to beat a Volkswagen?' scales at 131 said 1820lbs. with me in it and I had Remy's battery pack/car starter thingie in the front floor so that's got to weigh 20lbs or more?so 1620lbs without my fat butt, give or take a lie or two,

That will be nice to be able to go on cruises now that you have the cooling/charging system. How long did you run the other motor with no cooling before things got too hot and you had to shut her down?

Not long ,long enough to pull up to the starting line and do a 13 second pass drive back to the pits probable 4 minutes? heads are about 250-300*,that one pass @ 131 the starter guy took his sweet time ? thought I cooked the heads but no harm done, oil temps were 300* so cool down time

Crap, Mike, I forgot to look last night. I believe that it is a 600. I bought it when I was going to go with a draw through set up. I will try and get a photo tonight. Can I text the photo to you?
