My 40 IDF Webers have a port built-om for vacuum advance that is blocked from the factory by screws. I have an 010 dizzy and Pertronix that I am going to use (only had it for a few years...), but I have heard great things about using a distributor with a vacuum advance for acceleration and mileage.
Interested to see how it works too.

Hey Rudy&Dave,Power seems about the same, with the 019 it stumbled when cold and just above idle when hot 'sometimes' vacume dizzy doesn't do that with that load mileage dropped to 20mpg,but i wasn't babying it ether Ported vac is a small brass tube just above the butterflys on the left carb, like dave said,,, Dave what's hold up It's like ONE nut to take off,, and re-time,I just put it at TDC and take the bracket off w/the dizzy(note where the rotor is)that way it's all 'set' for re-installation

Decided to put the 'Headbanger'on hold until after Yipsi. Just too much fab work and not enough time to do it 'Right'? "Finally" Got the Shifter to work Couldn't get 1st&2nd without lifting the reverse lockout up Move the base to the right and 'presto'We have 1st & 2nd without the trigger then fitted the rubber floor mat over the carpet, might help with road noise Just waiting on the headliner bows from N.C.,,Then hope I have time to fit the 'Bamboo headliner'
