Sorry I have been in hiding for a while but I will try to be more involved. After the fun and large Fall BugRun we just had I received a lot of questions bout the 2013 Color Tour. With life getting in the way of things I was unsure about about doing it again this year. Due to the interest from the BugRun the 2013 Color Tour will be on Sunday October 13. I am thinking of just copying the same route as last year due to the bad weather we had. This time with better weather and a camp fire in the back yard. I might make a few slight changes to the tour to fix some trouble issues dealing with traffic. Also this year we are thinking of doing a pot-luck style dinner after the color tour with a bring your own beverage at my place sort of like last year. If you need to keep stuff hot or cold stop by the house before the tour and we can make arrangements. Plus we can drive to the starting point together as a group. Here is last years thread to give everyone an idea of how things went. thegoodvolks.proboards.com/thread/5274/2012-goodvolks-colortour-oct-13thThe only issue so far is the starting point I want to use the same one as last year but the bridge over I94 is under construction. So I will keep everyone posted. More info to come so stay posted

AJ,
How about River Oak Park (soccer and soft ball complex) for a meet/starting point? Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of. If I get released to drive I plan on it.

I am going to go as long as I get Ally back together by then (looks good at this time). I need to be in Saginaw by 6pm so I may have to cut out early. We always seem to do this when I have an E fly.

I'm thinking about camping that Saturday night in the Westy somewhere near the starting point. Any recommendations? Anyone interested in camping?

gokart You could go camping in my back yard with the bus before the color tour. That also applies to anyone else too just let me know before.
I need to change the meeting place due to construction at the current one. Traffic is terrible there currently.
The new meeting place is the park-n-ride just north off of exit 92 from I94. Sorry for the last minute change.
Like last year be there at 1:00pm on Sunday and we will be leaving a little after.
Just remember to bring something to drink and a dish to pass. If you need refrigeration or electrical power let me know and stop by my house before the color tour.
We will have hotdogs to roast over the fire and smores at the house for after the color tour.
Lets hope the weather is better than last years

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm I need to be in Saginaw by 6pm. This is looking bad for me. What time is the ending of the run in your estimation? I think its a 3 hour ride to your place from mine and Im not digging the math on this one. Plus Ally is still being put together though I think it will be done in time. Maybe meet up and follow around a bit then blaze back so I make my 6pm appt.

Looks like we will be attending the color tour. My back has been feeling good and I think it will be fun to see everyone again. Since the last time I saw anyone from the club I have purchased a 1974 Thing that is all original with the exception of a paint job. Well, with the exception of back pains or rainy weather we will be there.
AJ I'll need your address and the address of the meeting place.
Thanks, Bob

Dan
The first part of the ColorTour is about 1 hour long to the Bridge Park. Then it all depends on how long we stay at the Park. The second trip to my house is also about 1 hour long then everyone can stay as long as they want.
BeetleBob you have a pm

We are planning to show up at Fort Custer State Park Saturday afternoon without a reservation. They said walk-ins can stay one night, but reservations require 2 nights. Availability looks good.
Anybody want to camp?
