Well, this is not good here. The shop has the Pig of Plastic apart, and it will not be ready until next week.
The PoP's front end is apart to see why it turns right better than it turns left. we checked the alignment, and it's fine. We replaced the steering damper, and the old one is fine. As a matter of fact, it's actually a Bilstein, and in perfect condition. It will end up for sale here or on the Samba, since the new Boge unit is a little less stiff.
The steering gearbox looks fine, and it's a TRW unit. It's adjusted correctly.
I guess the next step is to take a long, hard look at the tie rod ends next...
The only thing I am wondering is if the drop spindles have anything to do with it.
Anyway, the car is apart.
