a 1200cc 40hp that was produced on Oct 1961. And,  a 1955 engine built in April 1955 its a 36hp |

COOOOOOOOOOl But I like duel ports myself.
All I did to Vw today is drive the wee out of it................ Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Oh yea I filled it with gas. Im averaging 25-27mpg depending on the foot.
Oh yea I talked with the previous owner and found out the motor is a 1641 (knew it wasnt stock, seems much more sprightly).

Drove the Ghia for the first time since last fall today. Just poured a little gas down the intake and she started on the first crank.
It was a bit nippy with the top down at 8:30 tonight. But it was fun.

Charged the battery, charged the amp capaciter, reinstalled the back seat, synched the carbs, bolted on the license plate and went for a drive to George's in the beige car. Felt good to get it out again. Perfect day for it.
Bought a short shift kit for the blue car.
Amazing how different these two cars are.

Drove the bug more than once this week. Too cold to put the top down, not for me but because it now takes two people to get the top to latch again.
Its awesome to know that there is someone else as crazy as me to drive with the top down in winter.

With A.J.'s help we got the 40 horse running on the test stand. Might put it in my car this week. We also cleaned the Ghia bolck of all paint.

Started Ruffuss, ran around the block(yes the top was down). Neigbors just pointed(probaly,calling me crazy) Went in to Kalamazoo and back(that time top was up) Ran down to the farm, just got home. Good to have both of us running like we're suppose to. Later Kenn

After some help from Dustin and John H. this past week I was able to put engine back together, and today I got it back in the car. Hopefully this week after work I'll be able to get everything hooked back up and get her back on the road.
