Maybee not road legal, but drove it (the pan) up and down the block twice, first time the shifter was messing up, fixed that and went again, did good. Needs a tune up, and re-bleed the brakes. Oh yeah.

Not yet, I was at home with my 4 year old son Evin, he did go for a ride also and had a blast. I intend on taking it for a spin and get some photos and maybe a vid. Dont want to piss my neighbors off, most of them suck and would call the cops.

Changed points, rotor, cap, wires, plugs were actualy realy good so I left them. Tore the carb apart and cleaned inside, replaced the accelerator pump, fuel cut off in the fuel bowl, and gaskets. Its still running crappy, but havent done the timing or a vale adjustment yet so that should take care of it. Need to look at the choke also. Also fixed the exhaust leak on #4 cylinder. Thats it for last night.

Still havent gotten into a valve adjustment yet, but its running much better now. Timing is correct, so I think. Before it was running realy rich and had the timing way advanced and had a nasty hesitation on accell. Now its mostly gone. Starts right up with no choke on it. Next is a valve adjust just to make sure, and a oil change. Also welded up some more holes on the dash that werent needed. Figured out a way to make the switches from a later car work on the large holes of a oval dash, realy didnt want to weld them up if I didnt have to. Gotta say, Im about sick of the state of IL government. You now HAVE to have insurance on a plated car. So now I have to get insurance on a car that I cant even drive cause I had enough money to pay for it to be registered. This is a new law this year apparently. I understand the basic principal, but still.

Actual pics of some progress. Still got to paint the body one last coat, paint fenders, doors, hood and such, and the seal for the pan also, on top of many other things to prep for install. But it feels good to have the body back on, and a engine that I know runs.
