Here's the backside of the rear apron. Looks like it wasn't hit too badly as it's a fairly minor repair. Other than an angle on the exhaust tip opening, it wasn't noticeable form the outside.

Was also able to get most of the front end sand blasted this week. This area wasn't nearly as clean as the rear, but I already knew that.

















I'm not too concerned over the windshield frame as that's a fairly easy fix, but the areas under the gas tank are going to be a bit of a challenge. I haven't really decided how to handle those areas. It looks like a P.O. fixed the air box at some point so I'm assuming that was the cause of the rust under the tank. Too bad that area wasn't fixed at that same time.

John Hanson and I took my long block to the car wash today. I've been wanting to degrease it for a while and finally got a chance.

Haven't really had a chance to do much to the 74 so far this season. Seems to be too many other things needing my attention. However, I was finally able to get my motor on the stand with John's help. Had to do some fabricating to the stand to hold the VW bracket.




After getting it on the stand, I was able to pull the oil cover and screen off. What a nasty mess came out. Looks as though the previous owner didn't change the oil as often as perhaps it should have been.






I'm letting it drip for a day or so before adding more oil and try flushing more junk out.

I thought I had my emergency brake lever all freshly painted today - that is until it fell off the coat hanger I was using and landed on the basement floor. Guess I'll have to get the sandpaper out again.

My computer is not cooperating so I can't post a photo (yet), but what's the story with the 74 Super loaded up behind your truck Rudy?
