Hi Ed and Hi Steven. My name is Rudy and I'm a Greedy Bug owner. I only can drive one at a time and have 5. I don't plan on sharing because I'm a Greedy Bug owner (OK, maybe Beth can drive one too). Here's a situation that illustrates what I really think. Last winter I saw a late model 911 or whatever they call them now being driven around Holland. Meanwhile my plain jane 2wd GMC Canyon was in storage, protected from the salt. While driving a relative POS in the winter was my choice, enjoying the Porsche was his choice. We should not dis each other for differing from our individual ideas. I agree that we can lament the fate of a car, but it is the owners choice what happens to it. I tried not to enter this, but keeping my feelings to myself isn't one of my strong suits, nor do I want it to be That is totaly different than the '64 sittuation, your taking care of the cars. Im sure eventualy you will tire of a car, or keep it till you pass, and at that point they will go to someone, who knows what will happen at that point. But the point is the owner of the '64's disregard and lack of respect for something that we hold in high regard.

I think we are getting very close to getting too personal for some. As I see it, there is no happy middle ground between the two different groups. I won't post anymore in this topic.

But sitting a field, in a barn, garage, under a tarp what ever, that vehicle belongs to whom evers name is on the title/bill of sale. Folks give me $hit all the time about the 62's,66,54 VWs I OWN!!! and haven't done much to since I rolled them in. Some don't even know how many I have or will not know unless their willing to make an offer I can't refuse. I've proven that in the last six months selling two most didn't even know I had. I mentioned I what I had someone made an offer and the cars had a new owner. Remember money talks, BS walks. I purchased what I have and I'll sell them or do what ever strikes me at any time I want. I for one know exactly what I have into most everthing I own and it is mine until it's not. Thats my thought on the subject so there. Later Kenn PS I wrote this awhile back and sat on it, letting the subject COOL before making it public. So call me GREEDY , Not fair what ever, I DON'T Give a ragged rats a-s

I agree Kenn. The hobby has always had to be self supporting for me, just because that's how I want it. I don't see anything wrong with buying an investment and selling it at a profit. It doesn't have to be a share of stock to be an investment.

I feel I invst in precious metals. I invest in classic VW's. I like most of you hate to see a car of any kind rot. The cars were build in whatever year to be driven, and enjoyed by others, and you. I hate it when people take a good car and cut it up for a race car. I myself have cut a car or two up. The reason was it was too for gone, or would cost too much to make show, or even drive quality. My thoughts an that are if that is the case, make a race car. Keep the lines of the car so others can still enjoy the beauty of the lines of a car. They are still driven, and enjoyed. To let one sit and rot is wrong and upsets everyone who is passionate about cars at all. Or at least it should upset them. Oh, I myself am a greedy bug owner. But I drive most of mine. The ones I don't right now. I WILL someday.
