I belong to Tearjerkers, a teardrop trailer club and we camp year round out here in the West.
I camped in Dec,Jan, and now I have a camp out every month thru June.
Februaury is a trailer campout near San Diego
March is the SCTT ( Southern California Touring Tears) teardrops ONLY camp out at Lake Perris,Ca. Should have 150 teardrops at this one.
April is MY VW camp out here in Riverside.
May is The Spring Picnic ( camp out & VW show) in Yorba Linda,Ca.
June is the ever popular Black Star ( Classic week) camp out at Prado Dam in Chino Hills,Ca
and it's only January ! I'm sure there will be even MORE camp outs to come !

Robert, Yeah I (we, Karen & I) camp but not with or in the VW. Ruffuss isn't big enough/powerful enough for our camper. Our camping starts about the time your ends. Heck the snow doesn't usually leave until the 1st of April if we're luck.

I would like a teardrop that I can pull with the bug and can sleep 3 (2 adults and a kid in a separate bed/hammock).

I can't say that a motorhome or a 30 ft trailer constitutes "camping", but then... it's all relative I guess.
The teardrop could sleep 3 with a hammock or even on the shelf at the headboard.

My idea of "roughing it" is when I call room service for a hamburger at midnight and am told "the kitchen has closed for the night..."
I have worked long and hard so I don't have to sleep on the rocks anymore...

Camping for me is in a tent at the family cabin in MN that got electricity in the early 2000s (still no running water), in a tent somewhere else, or the 2 times I've used my Westy with its side tent.

I did tent camping from age 13 to age 39 or so. Ive put in my time. I like waking up nice and dry. I like having a fridge. I like having a toilet and shower. I love camping and having a nice camp fire. I like sitting under the canopy and reading or playing guitar. Camping is awsome and probably one out of only 2 activities the wife will do with me  |

Camping AND Marriage... they both mean sumthin different to everyone...( Good luck with that "other" activity )
As fer me.. I got rid of the wife.. camping is MORE fun that HER !
