Ok, I know you guys have seen these pics a million times. Its Rocco, my 75 std baja. What wheels do you guys suggest for this car. I am torn. I am having so much trouble deciding and wondering what you guys think. The car will be getting a one piece front end 4 lights across the front bumper, the front fenders that are on it now will get flipped around, trimmed, and put on the back. Eventually maybe some high mount nerf bars, other than that, this is pretty much what its going to look like. I REALLY don't want to change the bolt pattern if I can at all help it . I can't afford to do brake upgrade AND wheels and tires at once, so I have to do wheels and tires now and wait till spring for the brakes, when I will upgrade to discs. I'd RATHER not use adapters so I'm pretty much stuck 4 lug. probably a 15x5.5 or 15x6 up front, and 15x8 or so on the back I can't stick with the wheels I have now because the rears are 10 and I want something narrower on the back. I also have 4.5's up front and they are too narrow for the tires I want to run. So I'm thinking 4 lug centerlines 4 lug "wagon wheels" unsure of color definitely open to other suggestions.

the tires I have picked out are general grabber at2's 205/75 15 for the front (same size as whats in the pics) and 265/70 15s in the rear (1 3/4 inches talller, 1/2 inch wider) its been suggested that I keep my current wheels and put the hubcaps back on what do you guys think?

It looks great with the hubcaps on too.
Since wheels are not pressing, you could keep the steel wheels, and wait for a deal instead of having to spend a lot of money right now.
Handsome car! Looks very purposeful.

thanks guys, Puma, you think it looks purposeful with the hubcaps on even? I was worried that took away from the purposeful look. I'm having trouble finding the middle ground between looking "old school cool" and (as my wife described it not long ago) "looking like its ready to get some sh#t done"

I like the wheels now also. I wonder what it would look like with the hub caps blacked out? If you are set of finding other rims I would wait until buggy builders. I got a great deal on used rims last year. There were many sets up there. With alum rims you need to be careful to get the thick ones to make sure they can handle street driving.

Muscle cars always looked purposeful with painted rims and dog-dish hubcaps.
The VW looks purposeful too.

I like the hubcaps, But I think, maybe going to a gunmetal on the rims to break up the black.

I still like the black here, but it certainly only one man's opinion. (You have all seen the Pig of Plastic...obviously my opinion is in question...)

Wow. you are right, I was looking to see what wheels were available, and there is next to nothing for 4 lug off road wheels. Sucks

Did you check Customcommercialwheel.com
I have found a couple of nice looking wheels there. Has anyone done business. With them?
