Thanks Rudy! Here is the latest update. After racing Saturday an finally getting into the 13's with the rail I was even more motivated to work on the bug on Sunday. Got the front end all done: Then removed the '64 tranny: So I could clean and paint the rear of the pan tonight: Used the fancy light weight lug nuts: As noted in the classified wanted section; last week I bought this seat that weighs as much as MadMike's baseball cap! Next up is cleaning and painting the axle tubes and backing plates while Greg finishes up my transmission.

Thanks Ray. Spent the evening at Jason's helping with scuffing/sanding inside the trunk area and the interior of the car. It is really coming along. Keep forgetting to take photos while I am there. Looking forward to the 'put the body on the pan' party! Hopefully coming up real soon....

Bren, do you know how much weight paint adds? Quit working on making it pretty, and concentrate on making it fast!

I'll call Steve and Dustin, but we might be willing to buy you more paint. Can you still get lead based paint

Smooth shiney paint makes it slippery. Its going to just slip through the air!

Haha, Where's those cement pan halves? I hear those lighten them up quite a bit

You guys stay away from my car! Jason dropped a washer down the a pillar.... He knew better than to leave it there and got it out with a magnet! ;D Friday and Saturday went to Jason's to sand/scuff the front trunk area, inside the car, and under the rear parcel tray area. Then hit it with some rust converter. Jason continued to work on the outer shell. Sanding the rear fender. Shaved bumper bracket holes: Current status of the shell. Getting closer! Front fender. Turn signal and bumper bracket holes shaved: Testing some paint ideas. Thinking black ceiling. Looks good against the orange. Sunday worked on the brakes. Plumbed in the staging brake with brake light switch to activate the msd. Brake lines sure don't look as pretty as happy campers! Also put in a new shift rod bushing. Tonight I installed the roller pedal on the pedal assy. Thinking about wrapping the roller with grip tape. Seems like it could be way too slippery.

You know Bren, people wondered why Moto Guzzi racing motorcycles had such an odd tan...
Turns out the engineers figured out they were a few pounds lighter when you primed them, but did not paint them! (Moto Guzzi's were always "Arrest me Officer Red")
Just saying....

You and your Moto Guzzi.... ;D In bracket racing consistency is king. However, I just hope it is fast enough to not be boring.

You are really making great progress. You continue to set a high standard for the rest of us to live up to. The car is going to be one good looking example of drag bugs.
Wish I could keep my eye on it more (in my rearview mirror ;D)
