I was hoping to show up in the blue car Sunday too. No way that is going to happen either. Bummer. This stuff seems to take twice as long as planned and cost twice as much.

No paint yet, need to get it done before it is too cold. Bren, what is your secret for keeping a project only twice as long and expensive? ?

just went through "Zeel"-land this morning picking up one of Zeeland Bakery's choc. fried cinnamons...best donuts period. Franks burgers are awesome, too. They've got the city quite heavily decorated. In fact, they have all these life sized figures posed all over..totally freaky this morning in the dark with very few people around. This year should have a real good turnout..weather report is favorable and the 3-day event has received huge advertising. The WMVW club used to be in the parade..it was fun...I have lots of good photos and memories of that. If you have young kids, let them dress up and ride with you...they'll never forget it.

:)So is it for sure we are all meeting at noon at a Burger King near the highway (Bus. 196) near Zeeland? I am following Aki up from Plainwell/Delton Area. Also are we to wear something with a Halloween theme?
Thanks. John in Plainwell

I am going to let Dustin or someone else coordinate the drive in. I shared with Dustin the route to follow into the staging area for the parade.

Good Day, Volks-Fans!
I've been meaning to join your group, if you'll have me. I ran into a few of you at the Spring 131 Bug Run @ Martin and you all seem like a good bunch of people.
I realize that this is very 'last-minute', but i just found out about your Zeeland parade. Is it too late to join? What are the criteria for the parade?
I'm the proud 10-year keeper of a 1971 Beetle purchased from a good friend. I'm the 3rd owner, and there are 390,000+ miles on the body/pan and trans. Engine received an upgrade 5 years ago to 1641cc with a full balance job and 40 IDA Webers and the obligatory 'Turbo" ceramic-coated muffler, Pertronix ignition, etc.
The only downside, is that she's a daily driver and seen a few too many Michigan winters and is showing her age, but she still runs like a champ.
Am I too late to join your parade, and if not, would you mind a newcommer running a well-worn, but lovable Bug?
Thanks for your time and consideration!
Most Sincerely, John (Jay) Thorpe; aka - Dub Boi

Dub Boi: As Kenn stated we are full up for the parade. They have to limit the number of cars and we are only allowed 8. Come join us Sunday at the test and tune. Sign up on the test and tune thread. Welcome to the club and the forum! -Bren
