We are in the process of removing the motor. We didn't have much time but today we took the right side J-tube and pushrod tube guard off. It looks like it might be the seal at the pushrod tubes, that's the hope. Since there is oil everywhere we'll have to clean the motor first, then start it and try to figure out where the oil is coming from. I know that this fix could be done with the motor in the car, but the thought of fixing it in the middle of the parking lot, where people find sport in trying to get as close to your legs are possible isn't appealing.

Kirby,
It is much easier to do with the motor out. If the seals are leaking you might as well replace the tubes as well since they are usually only a $1 a piece.

They are going to be replaced, that was a given, once we knew it was as least one source of the oil leak. We are now working under a deadlne because our Project Advisor wants a ride in the car Monday.

Got the motor out and back in about 4.5 hours, found the oil leak, loose head stud. While the motor was out we put in a new clutch. Still have some reassembly to do yet. Also have to adjust the clutch linkage.

Wow you did all of that at a parking lot. You are brave. Could it have been towed to a much nicer location. I really hope you can get it running soon. The fasty does look very nice.

Thanks! We have no money for towing and no garage to tow it to. Joe offered his garage but we had to get it there first. The car should be running be Monday. On Christmas break the Air Rde will go on (we have a garage for that).

I can see what the problem is from here, the engine is too flat. Did you drop it? It should be more upright. J/k Thats some serious dedication to do all that work in a parking lot, a fairly busy parking lot at that. Keep up the good work.

Oh jeeze dude, I forget to mention my friend has a flatbed trailer we could have towed it with. Wiring is my strong point so if you feel like tackling any let me know and we can work on it.

Thanks Joe, wish we'd known that on thursday. If we do any more to fix the wiring I'll let you know. Would you shoot me a PM or email though Facebook with your phone # in it?
