Got our new seat covers for Christmas. Decided to go with the Red theme. I started in on them a little.

Twins. Exactly! Hog ringed the "burlap" to the springs. The burlap is acually a heavy vinyl with an sturdy backing. Nice stuff. I think it will really make a difference in how the seats feel. On the seat bottoms I spray glued on a layer of automotive type carpet over the burlap and the hog rings. I wanted to prevent the hog rings from ever showing through. Probably overkill but I had the material.... Then spray glued on the foam, layed on a sheet of super thin plastic and installed the bottom cushion cover. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. Now on to the seat back.

Thanks Rick. But I doubt it. Got the passenger seat back done yesterday. Now I just need to cut in the holes for the headrest.

Shoot. Wish I would have known about this before I installed the seatback cover on the passenger seat. Was not happy how the passenger seat back ended up. Seam was right over the holes for the headrest. Contacted SewFine and they told me about this tutorial. Learned two things; hog-ring cushion to frame, and strap down the cushion portion to the frame at the top. Never would have thought about that trick. Seat-back for drivers seat is going back to them. I found some sewing needle holes on the face and asked them about it. They call them bullet holes; said to send it back for repair. They apologized and said should not have gone out like that. Very professional about it. Got to like that kind of customer service! Tutorial: www.sewfineproducts.com/install/bug/49-64.html

I have not found it easy to install. Not that it is made poorly. It is just a lot of work to get things to stretch to where they need to go. Also, bus seats are more difficult since you can't remove the seat back from the bottom. Today I got the seat back re-installed. (I had to compress the seat back springs. Had done it with only zip-ties previously. Decided to use wire instead. Was afraid the zip-ties would not hold up over time.) Then I installed the seat bottom foam and cover.
