I just realized that Uncle John's Cider Mill is north of Lansing.
Is this ok with everyone?

I'll go either date. Uncle John's is only about 15 minutes north of Lansing, and it's a great time.

I just realized that Uncle John's Cider Mill is north of Lansing. I pointed this out in one of my first posts on the subject and a couple days ago said the leaves were already turning down here in Battle Creek. Do the math. Last year we went on the 10th and were too early - might be about right this year if we're going further north. Maybe we oughta be lookin' at the 9th or 10th this year. I'd like to start somewhere down here and maybe hit Hastings, Nashville, Vermontville, etc.

Ok its Thursday my cut off date for voting.
Here are the votes.
17th......4 10th......2 9th........1
Here are my thoughts I would rather do the Color Tour on Sunday morning ish due to traffic. This way we can keep together and not get all split up. I would rather not do the 10th this way to keep it open for people going to the VW Show. If our date that we pick is to early or late we will just learn for next year right.
So after all the voting it looks like.........
Sunday October 17, 2010 is the official date for the Color Tour.
Now I have tons of work to do.
I may need peoples help during my route planning to make some "Trial Runs" and report back to me with feed back. Last year I made about 4 trial runs but the location was closer to my house. Let me know if you are interested in making a trial run.
Currently I am thinking of a rectangle route. Start near a freeway for easy start location. Then head to the Cider Mill for lunch and goodies. Back near the start location to finish the cruise. I want the to and from trips to be on different routes to keep things different. Let me know what you think.
Thanks for your suggestions and voting.

Thanx, AJ for making an executive decision and finalizing a firm date. I'm sure NO ONE WILL COMPLAIN.
I would be happy to help w/ trial runs - at least the portion from around here to around Lansing where someone else (that's YOU Dave) can pick up from.

WWMT - channel 3 in Kalamazoo, just said our color should peak in about 4 weeks. The 17th is in 3-1/2 weeks so I'd say we're pretty good.

This will be cool because the people that participate in the GoodVolks Drag Day on Saturday will get to cruise around with the tech numbers on their VW on Sunday. See its a win win
