Trip to Old Fort VW Show

Meet at:

Time:
7:00am-7:15am Saturday August 21, 2010
We will leave at 7:30am

Route:
I94 East to I69 South
Approx 96 miles 1.5 Hours drive time
We should arrive 9:00am ish when registration opens
Travel speed will be 60-65 mph


Trip to Bug-a-Palooza

Meet at:

Route:
I94 West to I80 West
Approx 140 miles 2.5 Hours drive time
We should arrive 9:00am ish Chicago Time when registration opens
Travel speed will be 60-65 mph
Warning I80 is a Toll Road change will be needed!

I will be driving the Bus and so far it has 3 seats left. If you want a ride let me know.

If anyone has any special requests (ex. rest stops, better route, joining us on the way) Let me know.



Ok Folks we kind have a problem.

The Weekend of August 21 & 22 there is a show each day but either one of them is in Michigan. First up on the 21st is the Old Fort VW Club's Car Show in Fort Wayne IN. Then on the 22nd is the Harshwinters BugAPalooza. I have heard that both shows are worth attending. I know for a fact that the Old Fort VW Club's Car Show is.

I want to attend both, but driving back up into Michigan than down again the next day seems like a bother.

What about stopping somewhere in Indiana to spend the night? Like a hotel room or camping?

Who else is thinking of attending both shows? What are your plans?

Of the two shows, what one is bigger? I will be only going to one of them.

They are both big well established shows. Both are nice. Would be hard to decide. I hope to do both but not sure scheduling will allow.

Hope to see you guys at Bugapalooza, I think we host a great show, however that Oldfort event sounds really good too. Desicions, desicions !!!!

Can't make Old Fort. But I will be going to Bug-A-Palooza on Sunday. I hope its a nice day out. If there is any chance of rain, it will be Mini-Van-A-Plaooza for me ;D I'll still be there.

I really want to do both. I loved the idea of going to ft. wayne then directly to Chicago. Maybe next year; if they are on the same weekend again. Looks like I will only be able to make Ft. Wayne.

I had mentioned to John attending both of them and staying somewhere between the 2. What kind of deals can we get on a hotel?

I'm most likely going to Ft. Wayne again this year...had a great time last year.

I would be interested in meeting everyone again on the drive down. A caravan of VWs is always fun.

Can we try again? Somebodies car died last year...didn't work out.

I have no idea about hotel deals I was just throwing out the suggestion. I have made up my mind and I will be attending both shows. I will probably end up staying in Indiana with my Grandparents.

If more people were interested in attending both shows I would have no problem in finding a hotel but I would rather find a campground.

I will tag along in a caravan to Fort Wayne but probably find my own way after the show.

If you are still interested in attending both shows let me know stuff can be worked out.

I wish I could go to both. I have never been to any of the shows and it seem they always end up on the weekend I have something I have to do. If there isn't a show that will be the weekend I am free!

After talking with everyone today it looks like we are just going to attend the Old Fort show for the day and come home.
