this thing is such a freaking blast! it runs and drives decent. a few things to fix. the throttle sticks. im thinking its because the gas pedal has no spring to bring it back leaving all the bring back action up to the carb springs.the throttle cable also seems a little stretched or just too long. only getting 50-75% throttle with the pedal to the metal. need to replace the fuel lines from the tank to pump. some how the lines are much shorter then last year. or im just routing it differently. need a new oil pressure unit the one i have is leaking and a pos. a alternator conversion kit would be nice because i dont think the gen is charging. last year when it was running it was really doggy when you tried to switch to the next gear. now you can be doing 30 and put it in 4th gear with no problem with it trying to stall. videos getting uploaded now.
::edit:: forgot to mention i think the accel pump is working properly now. i was playing with the throttle trying to find where it was sticking and dumped a TON of gas causing a nice fireball to come out the exhaust when i tried to start it.

is it normal for the carb to have condensation and be very cold? there was some tube that hooked up the the carb and went to the crank pully tin but it was cut and blocked off.

It is normal if you don't have the pre-heat tubes coming from the exhaust to the intake manifold.

will it kill an engine over the long run if i dont have the heater tube hooked up? i have it blocked off for now. the only thing it could think it would do is make the fuel not atomize as good possibly causing a rich condition.

fixed the gas lines and got over zealous and went for a quick spin until the float bowl ran out of gas . seems the filter needed to be re primed. went to harbor freight and bought a new mechanical oil pressure unit and a tach. both work great. is there a rev limit you want on these engines? she wants to wop out over 8 grand. i think the clutch is slipping a little when hammering on it in 2nd and 3rd. its hard to tell with the exhaust the way it is. i need to head back to barnums bug barn and get some gaskets. went to home depot and got some door springs and tied them to the gas pedal for a temp fix on the sticking pedal. then tried to pop a wheelie. didnt do one just put 10 foot of rubber on the ground. i would LOVE to get this thing street legal and spin it around town. the miles of dirt roads around here are getting boring.

Your Cam is done making power by 4500 ;D so 5000 or more is just pounding out the center mains To do wheelies don't leave so hard, let the tires hook up then give it more throttle ;D

going to need a new clutch for sure. first and second are fine. once in third and give it over half pedal it slips bad. i also noticed a little gear oil coming out the front of the trans. i hope thats where the smell is coming from . i need to replace the shift coupler but i do not think the one i bought from part place inc in auburn hills is going to work. he called it a heavy duty one. it has 2 pre drilled holes for screws to lock it into place. the current one on it looks like it will only have one on top of the rod. dont know till i take it apart. still adjusting the carb cant seem to get the choke right. either its too loose or too tight. but i think i may have got it this time. when it was warm i busted it loose then let it drag to where it wanted to sit then brought it back about 1/8 of a turn. seemed to work right. seems i really cant get it to idle below 1k rpm with out it sounding like it wants to stall or starving for air. oh yeah broke the gas pedal today too
