Looks good! You gonna enamel the dash or go with the faux wood?
Now I know where to come for rust repair!
Also glad to see you're NOT filling in the passenger side Ghia emblem dimple! (Like they did on my blue one!).
Keep us posted...

The dash will be painted with the rest of the car. Hopefully within the next few days.
Rust repair is something most production body shops won't touch. They would rather pull off a fender, and replace it with a new fender, then on to the next car. I can't stand doing bodywork, but, I must share my talent!

It looks fantastic Patrick. I'm glad to see that your father-in-law's friend did not install the Studebaker nose on it!! Do you remember him saying that when I dropped the Ghia off? I also feel very fortunate that you are sharing your talent! Thank you! Brian

Now I don't have to e-mail you the pics! ;D Father-in-law was looking at it today, he thinks I should chop the top and drop a 302 in the front... More work on it tomorrow, hoping to get color on it before the end of the weekend!

Maybe we should talk about my yellow coupe this w/e as long as you're in "Ghia mode". She's got a little more bondo in her than I'd like - but I'm not sure I even wanna keep her. Prefer '71s and I've got a line on one that looks good.

I could have used a piece or two from that section, I didn't know you had it. Oh well, I fabbed the needed patch panels.

A little teaser... This is without the clearcoat, when that is done, it will sparkle like a holiday.

Thatsa hellova lota work. Yup! Ok, wetsanding has begun. In order to keep the finished product a surprise for the owner (vdubdriver) I am only going to post close pics. Roof, after clear, before wetsanding and polish. Notice that sparkle from all the 'flake! Driver's door after clear, before wetsanding and polish. Notice the reflection, THAT'S ME! Once again, this is before wetsand and polish, it gets even better! Dash, after clear, before wetsand and polish. If you want an omelette, you have to break some eggs, so, I broke some eggs... Driver's door AFTER wetsanding, BEFORE polishing. Next, a 2 step polish job to really make it sparkle. That should take place tomorrow!!!

Patrick - The paint looks fantastic; what a transformation on that Driver's door! Your reflection in the door is a true reflection of your talent. ;D I'm glad you decided only to post close-up pics; it has added to the excitement. A little like being on the show "Overhauling" with Chip Foose. I may have to bring a defibrillator to keep my wifes heart in sync when she sees the car! She is extremely excited after seeing the pictures! I'm having fun teasing her about her giddy anticipation.
