...as I said, I do some plumbing, and electrical... Pump control panel, converting to narrow band, I-COM radio and Panasonic PLC. This allows up to 3, 75 horsepower electric water pumps to be turned on from a 2-way radio. This is #2 of 10 that I have to convert... Greenhouse injector room, I've been upgrading this room to include a loop for injecting Chlorine and Sulfuric acid into our irrigation water.

Make money?...Does taking out student loans count?
Hopefully once I am done up at Michigan Tech then I can start paying some of that back. Tuition blows...$27,000 a year...ouch! It's all an investment though. No risk, no reward, accept for the chosen few. I am going for a major in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minor in Data Acquisition and Industrial Control. Late this spring I hope to get certified by FANUC (the Japanese robot manufacture that makes those crazy yellow robots for automated assembly and sorting) to set up, program, or integrate their robots into machinery or assembly lines.
I am attracted to the automation business, specifically ones that integrate FANUC Robots into their products. I love the high turnover rate of projects. When a company says "hey, I want a machine that does x, y, and z so that we can do a, b, and c," you have to think up something new, design it, build it, program it, test it out and make it work from start to finnish, and hopefully the company will be happy with it. Often times companies want the their stuff in less than two months. Talk about a quick project turn over rate, especially when you have 10 or 20 simultaneous projects! Stuff like that is just exciting to me. Lots of work, but seeing your work from start to finish is an awesome feeling. I also love that each project is a brand new machine that has never been built before! How cool is that!
That is my dream job.

I have been at the Giant Tire Building factory in Bryan Ohio for over 23years. We build earthmover, rearfarm, mining, forestry, and military tires. I was a tire builder for 21 1/2 years, then transfered to the Mixing dept, where I run a mill roll and giant mixing unit. Our factory was originally a General Tire plant, but was bought out by Continental, and now is a Titan Tire facility . The largest tire we presently build has a 63 inch bead and weighs around 12000 pounds{ yes 6 tons}. I also like to frequent actions and swapmeets, and love to wheel-n-deal almost anything. This does NOT pay the bills, but it does turn a little beer $ profit. But this keeps me somewhat {?} sane and gives me a chance to meet lots of new people and see a lot of scenery on my wild goose chases. I mostly deal in VW parts,Honda Atc's and small trailbikes, Chevy parts, and everything else I can scrounge a buck from. ;D

Also have recently dove into the world of Hot sauces and horseradish. I have been making AWESOME jerky for about 15 years venison and beef. The sauces are Habanero, Jalapeno, Tabasco, and Cayenne peppers. As some in the club have got to sample, I hope to get more out to gatherings, I hope to make this my NEW career after my tire sentence is over.
