Brought chassis back to my shop to install new rear end components, disc brakes, brakelines, cables, and fuel line prior to reinstalling the body.

So we are getting to the phase where the professional body guy is wrapping up the fabricatrion, body work, and paint and where the amateur (ME) steps in to start assembly and what not... Installed all new bearings and seals and disc brake hardware. Installed trailing arms and mocked up wheels. Still need to install spring plates minus torsion bars (air ride) and figure out the rear end alignment. Still waiting to get the call to come pick up the sandblast cut windshield (hopefully in 1 piece) and I'm bringing door and 1/4 glass to a friend tomorrow who is a glass guy.

Are you saying they cut the glass with sand blasting? Sounds like an interesting process.

Are you saying they cut the glass with sand blasting? Sounds like an interesting process. Yes. It's the surefire way to cut curved laminated glass, i.e. a Super beetle windshield.

I ran across your thread on the samba, and now I discover this forum, and BAM! Here you are. I had no idea you were in MI. It would be great to see this car in person some day!
This build is simply awesome. The workmanship is great, and it's making good progress. I'll be watching your progress.

Well I've got a bunch of useless gauges until this thing gets a motor. Area under radio is for air ride controller. Still working on tons of body smoothing, almost ready for paint ;D

Nice! I had the same problem, I bent the little stubs up coming out of the frame horns. I had it easy with the fuel line(s), Blu was FI, so there are two lines in the tunnel, a feed, and a return, I just used the return as a second feed, volume is not a problem! I'm not a fan of fuel lines inside a car, but, you could run braided outside the tunnel. It'll be covered with carpet, unless you're like me a think carpet weighs too much. It would be tough to do anything inside the tunnel without cutting into all the work you've already done.
