Man, I am heading to Florida tomorrow too bad Winterjam was last weekend. It was really cool. 1st. VW show I've been to since like '93 when the VW show used to be at the VW/Audi building in Auburn Hills... I wanted to look for some last minute ideas, etc. for the completion of my car. No real change in my plans ;D but I did learn about some safety latches for the suicide doors, a MUST have, so that made the trip worthwhile, besides all the sweet VDubs and nice bikini girls That blueish / purple Hot VW cover car Aug '09 was there. Very cool ride but a total trailer queen.....It was brought by the NEW owner who claims the car took 100k to build...

Rear apron prepped to be "removable". The decklid will have the removable hinge pins. We have also decided to run bumperless.

Will it ever be done !!!! Body separated from pan again for final prep. Final welding for roll cage backing, topside painted (nice eh ??) and undercoat bottom tomorrow. Approx. 1.5" taken out of seat legs.

Well the metal fab work to create a custom dash for a 73 Super out of a 55 is complete. So many window frame curves and bits and pieces from the 55 donor roof were used to create the dash. The dash has a lower gauge console that is tipped slightly upwards and retains the 55 ash tray and glovebox. The fuse panel will be relocated underneath the back seat. The gauges will concist of a 5" tac centered, fuel gauge to the left, oil temp., oil pressure, 12v, and turbo boost will fill the lower gauge panel, stereo centered and electronic air ride control panel below. The headlight switch will be on the far left of the dash (I'd like to use a chrome push / pull) the 2 rockler switches for the bearclaw latches and lower suicide door safety latches and a power port will be mounted on the underside of the lower gauge console and be somewhat hidden.
