I like the color of the interior. Is that a factory beige ? and I also dig the fire extinguisher at the column, great place for it !!

I'm not against stick shifts or clutch pedals, but I'm getting OLD. My knee won't take hard work. Several years ago I drove a stick shift 68 ghia. I enjoyed it for a short drive. Then I decided that to have an automatic is the best for me.
John in Plainwell, Plesae come over anytime.
The interior panels and seats are the original.

Aki I am glad that you got to work on your bus over the weekend. I had huge plans of rewiring my dash and adding in more electrical goodies but I have been sick all weekend long.
Your Bus is looking good 2010 is going to be the year for the Buses. Just a quick question by moving your middle seat forward does that limit middle seat leg room or was there plenty there already. I don't know if this is doable but what about having the middle seat face backwards but you may loose the walk through in the center of the front seats.

Yes, This summer will be fun with new old buses.
I moved the middle seat about 6" forward, fortunately there are plenty enough leg rooms. I never thought about reversing the seat. It may work.
I was lucky with mild cold a few weeks ago.

My project is getting close to completion. I just can't wait for warm weather. Today it was a nice day. So I drove my bus in and out of my garage. I still need to install the windshield. Here are some misc items I installed this week. I found this cup holder at Meijer for $2.99. I thought this is a perfect fit for my bus.   The charging unit- I'll install the charge unit in the dashboad at a later date  The decal I just purchased says "VW It is Floored"  |

I fabricated an EGR pipe and a flange. I purchased a 9x9dining awning from Wall-mart and attached a filler piece to be able to attach it to the bus. I sawed in 6 cow magnets. I gotr this idea from the Samba.   A 9x9 awning with filler material.  |

New tires were mounted with beauty rings on March 16. The windshield was installed with my brothers help on March 17. Fortunately it took only 15 min. The bus was insured and will be licensed on Monday. Finally I can get drive it. I added a few more pictures. I'm ready for a picnic and camping (??). The canopy is a 9x9 and tall enough for REGULAR people.      |
