I drove my 'vert to Post Band rehearsal last night. And I will drive it to the concert tonight if the weather holds.
Mill Race Park (SE corner of Capital & Michigan in Battle Creek), 7pm.
All you Battle Creek folks should come out in your bugs!!! Aki: Load those grandkids up in the bus!! They'll have a great time. WKK Auditorium if bad weather.

Around the block and up and down the street. Probably way too fast. Getting ready to try the track.

I know the buggy has it in it, but Bren drove too fast? Gotta see that! Just kidding buddy. Speed is addictive isn't it!

Yes it is addictive. Travis drove too. He did drive it faster than me.

Yesterday I drove the Pig of Plastic from Perry to Linden on the back roads to visit a client. Took 10 miles off of the drive on the expressway, but the time was about the same due to the slower drive.
On the other hand, it was nothing but smooth, fast, and sometimes a little twisty two-lane roads. Beautiful countryside, great weather.
That's what convertible driving is all about.

Angel Eyes and I took the blue 'vert out for a Sunday drive this evening. Drove through a few old neighborhoods and then downtown.
He sits very well in the passenger's seat and seems to really enjoy it w/o having to stick his head out the window like he does in the coupe. He gets his head scratched at just about every red light.
Then we went out to Columbia Avenue and saw two BCFD trucks going to a fire somewhere behind Siding World.

Went out with Angel Eyes again tonight. I told you guys the other day he sits well in the passenger seat; well, here's proof: (That's at the stop sign in front of George's house - his lawn is so d**n perfect...who's he trying to impress anyway?). Then downtown; stopped for awhile and caught the end of the concert at Mill Race Park - saw a guy in a nice '39 Ford. Out Capital Av. and onto I-94. The dog really enjoyed the wind at 65mph. Then home 'the long way'.

Went for a ride around GR today. It turned over 70,000KM today. I even had some guy in a Honda want to race me. I kinda just laughed and pulled away from the light.

Drove to the GAS show in GR all by myself - no caravanning. Except for a loose wiper blade flying off coming home through Hastings, a very uneventful trip (130mi RT). Think the new voltage regulator is holding a charge at last!! The curves and hills along M-37 between Battle Creek and Hastings were a gas! But I seem to recall going a lot faster than 70-75 in my old '66. Either it had better suspension, or I had more nerve back then. Put the top down halfway up!

Blu took Cori and I to Stanton and back. We attended the "Stanton Old Fashioned Days" car show. We had a great time, and got a LOT of positive feedback. I was the only VW out of over 100 cars. It was about a 200 mile uneventful round trip, although, I did lose my fan belt while sitting in line for car show registration, that's what I get for bouncing an 8000 RPM tach off the stop! I averaged just over 20 MPG also!

Drove the Yellow Ghia around the block a couple of times using the Kitchen stool as a seat. You shoulda seen it!! Got some stares and some giggles from the neighbors. A sunroof hole woulda been nice as I was pressing against the headliner - LOL.
