Motivation here just short on money and space. Someday when I buy a house I will raise a field of VW crops for my own enjoyment.
Where exactly is the gap in the front cross member because medal will form with heat and a hammer blow.

The gap is between the heater channels all the way across. Maybe we will have to heat it to get it to fit. I think I will leave it for now and focus on getting the rot cut out so we can set the body down.

Started removing the rot from the body. First up the passenger side rear cross member. Drilling out the spot welds was easier than expected. Seemed like the seam sealer was stronger than the metal in the outer corner. Tomorrow it is time for the passenger side heater channel to come out.

No photos but the other rear cross member and the passenger heater channel are out. Tomorrow the other heater channel comes out. Then I hope to have everything cleaned up and ready for welding. Friday is the big day. Steven, Kenn, John and AJ will be over. We hope to set the body down on the pan with the heater channels and rear cross members bolted in place. If all goes well we will weld that all in place. Again, anyone else that wants to join us come on over. Send me a PM and I will send you directions. -Bren

It will definately get driven this year! I feel much closer now for sure. I will owe many people many hours of VW work when it is done!
