Thanks for the compliments. Yes, pea shooters, because when they are not clamped in tight enough the shoot right out of the exhaust . Handles well, I had it aligned before installing the drop spindles. I got a lifetime alignment so I will take it in again soon.

It is a 4" narrowed beam with stock shock towers. I am running stock shocks so far. I have lowered shocks but I don't think they fit any better.

Nice ride!! You don't need lowered Shocks with just dropped spindles,Only if you have lowered it by weld in adjusters, and you are IN the weeds dude ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Mike. It has adjusters and drop spindles. I have both stock and lowering shocks. I will do some experimenting this summer.

I have a set of lowering shocks, they came with my beam. They were way too short, so I go shockless. It doesn't ride too bad, I was thinking about throwing a set of shocks on to stiffen it up a bit.

I just took it out for about a 5 mile drive on the back roads. Car is definately bouncy but tolerable. I might try raising the front 1" just for a ride comparison.
(Actually, my beige car with only adjusters on a stock width beam and stock spindles rode way worse. Once I put drop spindles on it the ride drastically improved.)

Updated the engine tin, generator stand/oil filler, and air cleaner to get closer to a proper '67 look. Before:After:

Developed a compression leak last summer. #3 sparkplug hole developed a small crack. Put in a thread repair insert (poor version of a helicoil). It held last summer. Compression leak came back. Tried a couple different sealants and neither worked. During the trip to Ypsilanti and back today I decided the best thing to do is pull the motor and replace the head. So, I put a fan on it to cool it down then pulled it. I don't like pulling motors so I figured I better just get it done. Tomorrow I hope to have it torn down. Last summer I bought some 87's so I will put those on while the motor is out.

Yesterday got it down to a short block. Both heads had cracks at the spark plug holes. Good thing I tore this down! New used heads will be going in along with the 87's hopefully tomorrow. Cleaned up the tins and painted them just to help protect from rust a little. Some are 1967 only so I want to keep them solid just in case I do a full resto some day. (Doubt it though.)

And it is back to long block status: New guides and valves along with a 3 angle valve job. That with 87's should give this a little pep!

Glad you found that out in your garage and not on the side of the road. Hope everything runs tight for you now...
