Hey Guys
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I bought my bus a couple of years ago here in Michigan from an 87 year old gentleman from Poland. His wife told me the bus had been in the garage for the last 20 plus years and his health would not allow him to work on it anymore. He opened the garage and I told him I would take it. The body was in such nice shape. I found out after that the motor had been rebuilt and only driven home from the shop and up and down the street a few times. The old guy was just super had a million stories about life and VW's. He apologized for his English said not so good since stroke . Since then I have done lots of cleaning and some minor repairs and enjoying. My 4 yr old son loves his childs cot and my wife tolerates the bus pretty well (had to sell our pop up and suburban to get it ) Well thanks again and hopefully will get to meet some of you at the Holland show. Do you have any suggestion for a place to camp Sat night?

Camping? When ever I finish my Bus or purchase a better one. The first place I want to go is Pokagon State Park in Indiana. I loved it their when I went with my grandparents back in the day. www.michaelday.net/outdoors/pokagon.shtml |

Thanks that looks like a great place. I was thinking about something close to the show for the night before. I could drive out Saturday and camp overnight and hit the show on Sunday then head home

Welcome to the forum! It depends on where you are coming from, but I would check with some of the state parks in west Michigan, Holland has a very nice camp ground. There is also a more old school camp ground in Covert, Mi that is right on Lake Michigan, not a state park, but very nice. I have camped there on the past two Memorial Day weekends.

Welcome Steve! Nice to see another Bus on here. There are places to Camp in Holland but you have to reserve early as they are usually full. But you might be in luck since it is still early in the year.

Welcome Steve, very nice looking bus ;D I got mine last year, and wife loves it..didnt have to sell anything, but she wont let me buy any more VWs till she gets a 65 Mustang..  Ohh, and for the holland show, she found a really nice camp spot, COUNTRY INN AND SUITES..lol She loves it..but not that much..  |

 Here is a little bit bigger picture of the Westphalia bed and breakfast...lol Nice bus you have there I kinda wish I could have found one with the straight up top would be nice to have the extra space/bunk up there. Is that a Country Homes or Sportsmobile |
