Hey guys and gals. As you may know some mice had a grand old time in my 70. Two holes in the headliner and urine and poop everywhere. REALLY smells. So I have comp through storage insurance and for $100 deductible my insurance company will come to the rescue. They are only suggesting an interior place in GR (some glass place off Division that also does interiors). Any ideas for interior places around? OR Could I (we) do an interior fairly quickly and economically with quality materials? I want real nice carpet (no offense to anyone but I don't want to use Menards carpet or anything IF the ins co is going to pay for it) with kick panels for speakers so they're not in the doors anymore. I have aftermarket seats, does anyone have an original set of seats? Of course I don't know if the mounts are stock or anything. Just wondering what is the best way to go. The adjuster is pretty open to any idea(s) as he's never dealt with an old bug before. Any suggestions will be appreciated. You could even call me at 616.738.1589 if that works better. I'd like to have some ideas for the adjuster in the next day or two... As always, THANKS!

I met this guy at the show Sunday. Jonce Fancher of Fancher's Upholstery, Inc. He is in the Ypsilanti/Saline area. He is a VW guy. If I were having this type of work done to my car I would want a VW guy doing it I think. 1-734-483-0549 www.fanchers.comfanchers.com/135/VW%20Interior.htmsales@fanchers.com

There is also a place in Grand Rapids called Buckskinz or Skinz something like that that does great work. Not sure if he has done Aircooled VW interiors but the guys on MIVE seem to like him.

Well, I am having it flatbedded to Coffman Auto Glass and upholstery in GR today. We'll see what they say about what needs to be replaced and how. I got parts and prices from MAM and we'll see how they compare. Of course, I want it done right (not sure if I am able) and quickly so I can get it back on the road soon. I'll keep you guys updated as this transpires and has a (hopefully) good ending. Oh yes, the youngest one was VERY upset as "Beep Beep" left on the back of that truck. I'm a little anxious myself, truth be told...

If you want it done right I would go to Wolfsburg West for parts before I went to MAM.

Thanks for the recommendations, not sure what insurance will pay for or Coffman uses but I'll put in my two cents worth. They're first putting an ozonator in it for two days to kill any remaining critters.
