Electrical HELP on my 1974 super beetle convertible

Our electric tail lights are not working properly, we have tried different configurations of wire connections but we are not sure on the appropriate configuration. If anyone has a picture of the right connection setup that would be great, otherwise we will pay someone to come and fix it for us. we live in Mattawan if you are interested please call my dad James at 269-720-3862.
