There have been some pretty lengthy discussions in various places over the past 5 or so years about ethanol in fuel and what it's been doing to our cars - especially carburetors and re-lined fuel tanks. It's causing poor running conditions in a lot of vehicles and major hot-start issues with pretty much everything that has a mechanical fuel pump.
I'm a member of a small trade organization dealing with British cars and we've been at it for a couple of years trying to figure out what works best with our SU's, Zenith-Strombergs, Webers, Dell'Ortos, etc. Recently I came across this map (via Revzilla) and it's a pretty nice reference if you're someone who likes to run ethanol-free fuel in their car. I've been running ethanol-free 90 in my MGB/GT (although I have enough compression that I may end up having to switch to something higher octane) and my 2 motorcycles.
At any rate, take it or leave it. This map shows reported locations of places selling ethanol-free fuel, sometimes also 110 or better race gas. Keep in mind some of the locations are airports or marinas, but you get the idea. We're lucky in Holland and have 3 readily available pumps to get the stuff.
