Does anyone know how much weight that can be saved by swapping to a swing axle? I'm got a 1800# car with me, can first gear tolerate the abuse?

Starting my next winter project list. Cars going on diet Wondered if it would be worth the time. Run a 14.6 @ 95.5 mph today at Stanton test and tune. Shedding the pounds and getting there. First time out this year.

Are you running slicks or DOTs? I was always told that a stock main shaft with a 091 idler is good for 50 passes on slicks, but this will all depend on driving technique.

Check out Wallace racing calculators here: www.wallaceracing.com/Calculators.htm. You can enter weight, HP, or ET and see what results will come from changes. Probably not 100% accurate for our VW's, but it at least gives some idea.

There is bout 60-65 lbs less without the irs junk in the car. First can hold. Make sure to use moly shafts tho vw shafts wont hold the black top for only couple of launches
