I found a similar thread on another club site interesting. What do you wish you still had? I'll start: My first restoration. ’75 Beetle. Painted it myself in 1996. Sold it in 1997. Yes that is Ruby behind it. I miss my Ghia but it is at a good home and maybe someday I will buy it back: It would also be nice to have this Thing back. I sold it to make room for the Ghia: Also Ruby in the background. Had her since '95 and will never sell her. Learned my lesson. Sold this bus because I was about to be a dad and didn't need the project. Years later when I started looking for another one, I realized how expensive they have gotten. Ended up with a Vanagon Weekender because the price was right. That's almost as good (I keep telling myself). ’67 200D (diesel) was my aunt’s car for most of its life. Looks cool but was loud, smelly and slow. Also regret selling my '94 Ford Lightning which I sold to buy a sensible family vehicle. OK, maybe this photo isn't of mine but I had one exactly like it.

Nice. I've always wanted a late model 'vair.
My wife hated the Mercedes. Part of the reason it is gone. Would have been fun to drop a V-8 into, but I would never have gotten around to doing it.

I can think of a few for VW 1) 1949 Heb, 2) 65" notch, 3) 57' baby window rag top 4) 62 rag top and a 62 vert. In the non VW side 1) 28' Model A roadster pickup(375 hp 327 cubic") Street rod, 63' Corvette split window 375 h 327.(that found it's way into the 28' roadster pickup and the Fiat),64' Chevy Impala vert and a 49' Fiat Topoline(glass bodied) wild child!! also with the 327 ci.

'83 GTi, fun car, sold to a buddy, he got rear ended in it, totaled. '74 412 variant, rusted out heap, but, it was cheap and had loads of character. '88 Yamaha YSR50, bored, piped, jetted, reeds, racing clutch, vented air box, bigger front sprocket, smaller rear sprocket, lots more! It could hit 80mph, do wheelies through third, and was a ton of fun! I would love to find another one to fix up with my son someday.

My old '97 Dodge Neon. 185K miles and not one single mechanical problem. It was passed down from my sister to my brother, and then myself. Ran fine when I unloaded it to a guy who drives off road shoot out derbies at the local Fair. Only issue was cosmetic. Went for a car with less miles. A nice 90K mile '07 Ford focus seamed like a good idea that the time for a replacement daily driver. Worst idea ever. Non stop problems. I have had it for 15 months, but it has spent over a month of total time in the repair shop, sunk well over 6K into it in mechanical repairs to keep it on the road. What a maintenance nightmare, and with no apparent rhyme or reason to why things magically fail. Many I wish I had that old car.
