I am going back to a mechanical fuel pump from the electric one on my rail. Other than the actual fuel pump, what do I need to get?

You need the base and rod: www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1715312There are two different lengths for the rods, depending on the style of fuel pump you use. They make fuel pumps for generator equipped or alternator equipped engines. If I remember correctly, the rod for the alternator equipped engine fuel pump is approx. 1/4 inch longer. You need two gaskets. One goes between the engine case and the fuel pump base. The other goes between the base and the fuel pump.
