Well, I changed the gearbox oil to Redline MT90 synthetic. I was only able to put 30-40 miles on it, but it does seem to make a difference. The gearbox does seem a bit quieter, and the downshifts are better. I think the oil is a bit thinner, which seems to be allowing the synchronizers to work better. I am able to downshift a bit better.
Now, with the CSP shifter, it downshifts quite a bit better. It's not a good as Dorothy's six-speed Miata, but it is much better than it was. It's more like a sports car now.
A lot of guys use this in their track cars, and I would think it would be beneficial for the drag guys here. It's not very expensive, at about $18 a quart, and it will probably add horsepower by reducing transmission heat and friction.
Might be worth trying.
